Hi Curtis,
This weekend Scott and I went to our place in Twin Lakes, WI for a working weekend. We needed to rake a large yard on the side of a hill. We got caught with a heavy snowfall before being able to do our Fall cleanup, hence yesterday and today were filled with sore hands and tired backs. We came home this afternoon to celebrate Scott's 58th birthday with our children.
When we got home we realized the Softub was all warmed up and ready to go. We contemplated getting in but hesitated due to time constraints. Then I said "What the heck, so we'll be late, it's your birthday." and we jumped in the softub. It's the best birthday present Scott has ever had and he's one happy man. I am currently on my second Softub. I traded in my 140 for a 300 and I could not be happier. The new Tubs with the Ozone, LED lights and Hydrotherapy chair is the most excellent Tub on the market today for the money. Many members of my family currently enjoy softubs including my Parents and brother. We have owned Hottubs for the last several years and have no complaints.
Pool and Spas to go is one of the best companies I could have hoped to do business with. They provided excellent service and support and worked above and beyond the call of duty to get the softub into my basement. Take it from me, the Softub is an excellent product and you cannot go wrong with Pool and Spas to go.

You probably hear this all the time, but, I feel the need to let you know how we feel about our Softub. We always wanted a hot tub, but because of ongoing family financial requirements we were not able to afford it. This past year, we finally paid off the loan we took out to help our daughter with her educational needs and we finally had a little extra money for ourselves. We attended the Home Improvement Show in Tinley Park, Illinois and met Curtis Allison from Pools and Spas To Go in Streamwood. Curtis took plenty of time answering our questions and to make a long story short, we purchased the Executive 300+ Softub. It appeared to be exactly what we wanted. While signing all the papers and finalizing the deal, we told Curtis that one of the reasons we were sold on this type of tub was the portability factor. Curtis told us to call him and let him know when the Softub would be delivered and that he would come to our home and help with the installation. A week went by and we finally received a call from the trucking company that our tub would be delivered on a certain date.
We called Curtis and arrangements were made for him to come to our home in Blue Island for the installation. It took a little bit of coordination on dates, but we finally found a date that was good for all of us. Curtis arrived and began unpacking the Softub and found that the exterior of the tub had been damaged somehow. He told us that he had another tub and would take the damaged one back to his store in Streamwood and bring us the new tub. Because it was so late, by that time 7:30PM, my husband and I told him that although we were anxious to have our tub installed, the time was so late, we did not want Curtis to have to drive all the way to Streamwood and then back to blue Island (a round trip of almost 100 miles). But, Curtis insisted saying that we had waited long enough for our tub and he wanted us to know that Softub and Pools and Spas To Go thought that customer satisfaction was the most important aspect of the job. My husband and I said okay, but felt very bad that he was going to make the round trip that night. Curtis left saying he would return with a new tub.
Three hours later at 10:30 PM, Curtis returned to our house with the new tub strapped to the back of his pick up truck. My husband helped him unload and unpack the tub. Since we live in the Chicago area, it is still cold here now and we wanted to have the hot tub inside so that we could use it as soon as the water was heated. Even though the Softubs are portable, getting it into my house and down the stairs was quite an ordeal, but Curtis promised that he could make it happen. Well, again to make a long story even longer, Curtis and my husband were able to put the tub where we wanted it (in my basement). Curtis reassembled the tub, set up and connected the filter, filled it up with water and make sure the water chemistry was right. Before he left (by this time it was 1:30AM), he gave us a rundown on operations of the tub, numbers to call if we had questions and told us that when we wanted to relocate the tub outside for the summer months, he would come back to help us do that. I have never been treated with such accommodation.
This man went way above and beyond the call of duty to insure that we were completely satisfied with our Softub. It was so generous of him to give us that kind of time. When we thanked him, he told us that he wanted us to be comfortable and satisfied with our Softub as he was with his own. He is truly a wonderful sales rep and a stellar advertisement for your company. Lastly, we love our Softub.

As of Labor day weekend this year, my Softub will have been giving me pleasure for one year. I want to congratulate your company for producing a truly wonderful product. When people ask me about it and how it compares to the standard, extremely expensive fiberglass spas, I use the comparison of the modern laptop computers to the original computer systems which used rooms full of machinery, and accomplished less than the new smaller ones.
Generally our lifestyle doesn’t run to the luxury of a personal spa, but I had seen the Softub demonstrated at a community fair a few years ago, and ever since then had been dreaming of one. When I developed arthritis (called by my Dr. “wear and tear disease”) and was told to go to the Gym and use the hot tub there, I did for a while, but didn’t really like the lack of privacy, as well as the discomfort of trying to relax with my head on the fiberglass tub.
Finally I decided it was time I bought my own Softub. We made a platform in our backyard, which was completely private, as we live in the country with no other houses near. At first I tried to convince myself this was a strictly practical thing—just to help my bad back and knees. But as time has passed and the Softub has become part of my life, I wonder how I ever could have gotten along without it. It isn’t just the lovely warm soaking always available just for the effort of going out my back door and walking about 20 feet. It is the sometimes restful; sometimes exhilarating jets of warm water beating on me, while I comfortably rest my head on the soft edge of my very own little bit of utter luxury.
Just ten minutes in my Softub gives me as much relaxation as a hour lying down or doing anything else. While most of the advertising for hot tubs seems to focus on them as a party type of thing, with many people laughing and talking, or sometimes as a quasi-medical aid, from my point of view, and I am sure many others would agree with me, the main pleasure I obtain from my Softub is coming out to it very early in the morning, when the sun is just rising, lying back in utter comfort listening to the birds sing and watching the trees blowing in the early morning breeze. Frequently our puppy comes out to visit me, jumping up on the edge of the tub and nuzzling the back of my head. I have to put my shoes up where he can’t run off with them.
Can you imagine a lovelier way to start the day? Then, frequently in the evening, very late, just before I go to bed, I go in the Softub again, generally just enjoying the peace and warmth, watching the stars, completely unwinding all tension before jumping into bed. I have even gone to my Softub when there was a misty rain, feeling the cool mist sparkling like carbonation on my face, and the wonderful warmth of the water.
Just as a solitary joy, there is so much pleasure and comfort to be had from the Softub, I am eternally grateful to you folks for inventing and selling it. Recently I had been thinking that it only required one more thing to make it perfect; some sort of a hose arrangement to a jet which would direct the jet to those hard to reach spots, like the inside of my knees. Then, when I went down to the Softub store in Ukiah, where I purchased the tub, I found that you had forestalled me, and the Jet-Mate was already there, doing just what I wanted. I’ve told everyone I know how much I enjoy it.
Recently my son bought one for himself from the store in Santa Rosa, on my recommendation, and he also enjoys his tremendously. The Softub is the most rewarding way I have ever spent my money, and for what it is, the price is comparatively reasonable. Anyway, all this blither is just to give you the gratitude I always feel whenever I use my Softub. Whoever invented the whole concept was really clever, although it seems like one of those logical inventions just waiting to be discovered. If there is anyway that any testimonial from me would be of help in encouraging others to get one, please make use of it.
Just incidentally, is the company publicly held? I would love to buy stock in it. It really must be the hot tub of the future.

A Lot Less Than A Regular Hot Tub

I Found The Solution

Seems I have always been a very practical minded person. This was even more enhanced when I met and married Carol some twenty-three years ago. Over several years we have looked at, talked about, collected brochures and figured costs on a “hard spa”. However, coupled with the task of site preparation (concrete pad, electrical work, etc.) and spending upwards of $ 7,000 I had passed by my 61st birthday and still no spa.
Enter Softub! After we looked at them at the Chattanooga Home Show in early March it is all Carol talked about the rest of the morning. We would have so much fun. No pad, no preparation, no special writing. Just move the grill over on the deck and fill it up! Today, March 21st the tub has been in place for a week. After a fast forty minute walk and shower, I got my thirty minutes in the Softub. Yesterday it rained, then snowed and the porch thermometer showed 29 degrees… and as I was enjoying my Softub I thought of so many of my friends to whom I should send a Softub brochure.

First of all I want to thank you for a wonderful piece of equipment. A Softub 220 was purchased from your store in March 2001 for me and I would like to tell you how I use it for therapeutic value.
I am a massage therapist with 35 years experience working in Complementary and Alternative therapies. I specialize in Crainial Sacral as well as Watsu (water therapy) that helps the cerebrospinal fluid to flow more smoothly within the dura tube of the spine therefore reducing the healing from traumas or accidents.
I have owned several types of hot tubs during my life and haven’t been happy with the hardness or results that I was getting for myself. I was introduced to your tubs while visiting a friend in California and was very impressed. The softness of the tub is a BIG plus for basic relaxation as well as comfort. This allows the body to remain relaxed without the hardness of the other types of tubs and has a warmer and inviting feel to it.
The jets are the best features I have found in a long time. Being flexible to move and rotate in the areas when and where needed on the spinal column, assisting the fluids to move freer helps reduce back pain, discomfort and increases flexibility that will aid and/or assist with shortening of the healing time.
I have and will continue to recommend the Softub line to any of my clients or friends who are interested in a quality product with great therapeutic value.

Softub Inc.’s First Customer It was April, 1987 when my masseuse strongly advised a good twenty minute soak in hot water prior to her treatment for a very problematic back. I agreed with her, however soaking in a bathtub didn’t seem to be a beneficial; also, we were renting a house at that time and it didn’t make sense to buy a hot tub and have a permanent installation. What to do?
Glancing through the Los Angeles Times Newspaper, I noted a home show at the convention center, and happened to see an ad for a Softub spa. It was portable, required minimal installation, was cost-efficient, could be set up anywhere. It was perfect, and just what I needed! Besides, it was my husband’s birthday and I hadn’t a present for him…yet!
I called Softub and talked with Tom Thornbury. “I’d like to buy your Softub spa, I said. “How much is it?” Tom’s response was that I should come to the showroom and see it. I didn’t want to, I just wanted to buy the spa and have it delivered that afternoon. Well Tom insisted, so I went to their location on La Cienega, walked into the showroom, and saw the tub. I barely let Tom explain all it’s wonderful features and purchased it on the spot, provided it was delivered that afternoon as a “surprise” birthday present for my husband.
The spa was delivered and set-up by Tom Thornbury himself, who was just completing it when my husband came home and discovered his birthday present in the backyard. Looking askance at me, he didn’t believe for one minute it was for him – but who cared, I knew he’d love it anyway… and that’s exactly what happened. Little did I know that I was the first retail Softub spa buyer. My name would be on everyone’s lips and I would become a celebrity within the environs of the Softub company. Soaking in my Softub spa became one of my favorite pastimes, practically on a daily basis, and it fulfilled my hopes that it would be as beneficial as I needed it to be.
I can’t count the times, over the past six years, that I have emptied and cleaned the tub by myself and how easy it was. Or, after we moved into our own home, how many times we moved it from one location to another until we found the perfect spot. I’m sold on my Softub. I’ve recommended it to friends and relatives who have purchased it and feel as I do. It’s light, it’s portable, it’s comfortable, it’s easy to maintain, inexpensive to run, and there’s no waiting time for pre-heating. In short, it’s wonderful!
It was a difficult decision to make to upgrade my Softub spa and donate #001 to the “Softub Museum”. Only under duress and huge assurances from Tom Thornbury that it would be permanently kept at Softub and not be destroyed, did I relinquish my hold on my tub.
Today, we have #23606 sitting on it’s own redwood deck, happily installed. It looks beautiful and performs to perfection with it’s four jets and constant 104 degree temperature. We love it, of course, … nothing can replace our fondness and years of health we obtained from good ole #001.
Even The Deck Is Portable!

Seems like were always in the backyard now and using it every night just before bed, puts me right to sleep! Since I’m renting the house, the Softub was such a good idea. Even the deck is portable. When I move I’ll just pick it up and take it away. What’s really great is, the energy usage $ 12.50 a month! I financed it and charge my 3 room mates a quarter of the monthly payments. What’s even better is its mine when it is paid off!

Talk about portable… WOW! I take my Softub with me all over the place; to parties, camping, wherever I go. So you can see why I’m glad my Softub doesn’t take six husky guys to haul around. Wherever I take it people are totally blown away. They love the way it feels and we have a blast soaking and sharing good times. It’s awesome. It’s been four year of trouble free fun. The Perfect Solution

With my busy schedule these days, I have been trying to find the opportunity to write you about how happy we are with our new Softub!! I have had a problem with muscle tension for many years now and have been spending much time and effort to ease the problem; chiropractors, massages, exercise, you name it, I’ve been doing it. So, two months ago when my masseuse told me I had to find a hot tub to soak in at least once a day; I realized that I couldn’t ask any of my neighbors to be that generous with their facilities so the time had come to do something on my own. We don’t own the house we are living in, and a portable bathtub Jacuzzi just didn’t sound good to me, but you know how things appear to you when the time is right?
Well, just three days before the recommendation by my masseuse, I had seen an advertisement in the paper regarding the Softub and knew that, that was the perfect solution. The brochures told everything one needs to know about the product but the things that are most important to me are the facts that the tub is completely self –contained—it doesn’t need to hook up to plumbing. It’s portable – I can take it with me when or if we move, and it will fit on a patio if necessary. I’m not sure I’d want it in my house—but then, if I had the perfect room for it as I have the perfect, private backyard, I think the twinkle of desire is starting. Talk about easing the tired muscles after a busy day!
I swear I’m in the Softub twice a day – usually once immediately upon coming home from work and then again just before I go to bed. I sleep like a baby and my masseuse and chiropractor both have noticed a considerable difference in the progress I’m making toward relieving the back strain and tension that had been building up for several years. In fact, I am enclosing the business card of my masseuse; she has asked that you call her in order that she may obtain necessary information regarding the Softub to pass onto her other clients. I originally bought the Softub under the auspices of a birthday present for my husband. Well, he loves it too and considers it one of the more astute and worthwhile of my purchases, so I lucked out all around. I wouldn’t be without it and if there are any improvements (how could there be) I would like to be among the first to know. I can’t begin to thank you for your wonderful Softubs. A number of years ago my back was badly injured in a car accident, I have suffered ever since. We rent our home & even though the doctors recommended a spa we knew we would have trouble trying to set up & move a large awkward unit. Not to mention the expense of the other hard shelled units. When we met your dealers at a local home show we were very impressed. We sell our products at this same type of show & often spend time talking with different dealers.
We have seen a lot of spas over the years but none have impressed us like the Softub. We had loads of fun talking with Chuck & Mike. They were both very friendly, courteous, & helpful, what great service!! Even though I had been told how easy, light weight, & portable the Softub was, when Chuck delivered it I was still surprised & amazed as to just how true this all was. Our Softub was up in nothing flat, there was nothing to it! WOW!!! I can actually lift the lid on & off by myself, I could never have done this with those other units.
Our first time using our Softub was a pure delight. In all our years traveling & using many types of spas none can compare with the comfort of our Softub! We even had a series of rain storms & although we California’s don’t like to admit that it ever rains here, when it does it’s cold. What Hot Water Can Do For You

I stand on my feet all day at work and my husband I on his knees laying ceramic tile and vinyl flooring for his job. We have been wanting a hot tub and didn’t want to remodel the bathroom just to have one put in. When I saw your Softub at a showing I knew it was just what we have been looking for. I was so excited I took my husband back the next day and showed him. He to was excited about having something that was portable. Having just come thru chemotherapy and radiation treatments there is nothing like coming home and relaxing in a nice hot tub and letting the jets massage the aches away. It was December 9, 1996, when my husband, Dan and I met with your wonderful employee, Carri at the Sacramento Softub store in Country Club Plaza and decided to by a Softub. Carri is so helpful and friendly--- had all the answers and made us feel very comfortable. I have had to call her several times with questions and she has always been interested and accommodating. Mike delivered our “Legend” on December 23rd—What a Christmas present!! Mike is also a terrific person, very adept at what he does and explains everything very well. It has now been a little over three months and the pain from my Rheumatoid and Osteo arthritis seems to be less and less. What a wonderful product you have --- I can move better and stand longer than I’ve been able to for the last four years.

Taking It To The Next Level

Just a little note to say thank you. In 1992, while at the Miami Boat Show, I was thrilled to find your booth and we purchased our first Softub, the small one for my wife and myself. We used the Softub year around, on the sundeck of our 75’ houseboat in Kentucky. After about 1 _ years, we realized we want the larger unit. We have friends that like to use the Softub with us. We sold the small unit to the people in the boat next to ours.
In 1993, we purchased the largest Softub and have enjoyed it even more than the smaller Softub. In the winter we move the Softub up on the flybridge under the bimini to keep it out of the snow. It couldn’t be easier for one person to move. It’s inexpensive to operate and always ready for our enjoyment.
